Join the New Jersey Association for Community Theatre (NJACT) for the announcement of the nominees for the 2014 Perry Awards on Saturday, August 2! They will be meeting at 2:00 p.m. at Kelsey Theater on the Mercer County Community College campus in West Windsor, NJ, for some words from the NJACT NJ Perry Awards Board, followed by light refreshments concluding with reading of the nominations. Cost of admission is $5.00 at the door. Cash only please.
This is their only business meeting of the year, and they urge each member theatre to send their NJACT Theatre Representative, reviewers or another member of their group to the Nomination Ceremony as some important business, such as how to properly post a show and reviewer tips will be shared as well as a short Q&A. However, all are welcome. DVDs will be returned at the nomination ceremony. Hear all about the 41st Annual NJACT NJ Perry Awards Gala and the introduction of our new online ticketing service, which will be activated shortly following the Nomination Ceremony.
Be sure to arrive a few minutes early to check out a wonderful addition to the Nomination Ceremony, an NJACT Perry Awards fundraiser, the Theater Friend Vendor Fair, to be held in the lobby of Kelsey Theater. Our vendors, all active in community theatre, will offer jewelry you can wear to the Perry’s or every day; bags to tote around your theatre stuff; makeup to make you look your best on and off stage, as well as candles to help you relax after a long tech rehearsal. Of course, all of these items make great gifts for your theatre friends. On hand they will have Letitia Townes and Suzanne Ramsey-Restivo presenting beautiful Premier Jewelry; Meredith Schacter Horvath presenting fabulous ThirtyOne Gifts (totes and bags, etc.); Koren Zander presenting the luscious makeup of Enkore Makeup; and Louisa Murey presenting fun candles from PartyLite! Don’t forget to visit each vendor to peruse through their wares and receive a ticket for a door prize, to be drawn after refreshments immediately before the nomination announcements. A performance of M&M Productions’ “Lil’ Abner”, performing at Kelsey Theatre that weekend, will also be presented for the membership shortly after the door prize drawing!
This is sure to be an informative and fun day with a few surprises, and they look forward to seeing all of you!
If you can’t make the event, no worries! The Kelsey Report will be on hand to detail ALL of the Kelsey Theatre productions that are nominated for this year’s Perry Awards. All the nominees will be posted online.
