Following very successful runs of The Secret Garden and They’re Playing Our Song, Pierrot Productions has announced their cast for Little Women, which is set to open the 2015-2016 Kelsey Theatre season on September 11th.
Little Women, which is being directed by 2015 Kelsey Award nominee Kat Ross Kline, is a musical based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, which focuses on the four March sisters – brassy, tomboy-like, aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth – and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, MA while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.
