Reock & Roll Revue is set to make music history yet at again as it presents another classic tribute concert at The Kelsey Theatre this July!
After five years of unforgettable concert events at The Kelsey, the Revue will celebrate Jackson Browne and his best-selling “Running on Empty” album in July for two shows only: Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m.
Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Reock & Roll’s homage to Jackson Browne, one of the most influential songwriters of the last four decades, is divided into two parts. The group will first perform selected songs and present video footage and other history behind Browne’s first four albums. The second part of the show will feature Browne’s fifth album, “Running On Empty” (1977), in its entirety.
Considered by many critics to be Jackson’s most accessible work, “Running on Empty” went on to be a fan favorite. In addition to tracks recorded on stage during concerts, it also contains numbers recorded in hotel rooms, on the tour bus, and backstage. Tracks include the title song, plus “You Love the Thunder,” “Cocaine” “Stay” and six other classics.
Reock & Roll Revue has been presenting classic album performances at Kelsey Theatre since 2008, including Ernie White’s “Coming of Age,” “Concert for Bangladesh,” The Beatles’ “White Album,” The Who’s “Quadrophenia,” Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young’s “Déjà vu,” The Allman Brothers’ “Eat a Peach,” The Band’s “Music from Big Pink,” and Eric Clapton’s “Journeyman.” The concerts have been wildly popular, with sellout crowds typical and multiple encores standard. DVDs of previous concerts will be available for purchase in the Kelsey Theatre lobby.
