Earlier this season, M&M Stage Productions presented their family heralded production of “Babes in Toyland”. Today, that production of is now eligible for The 2017 Kelsey Awards. Here’s everything you need to know about the show’s eligibility!

For those unfamiliar with The Kelsey Awards, every summer, the theater awards and celebrates the best productions and performances from the current season. Each production’s Producer and/or Director will submit the show for eligibility after the show has opened. Once a show is eligible, the general public will vote over the summer for the shows and performances that will eventually become nominees and winners. The Kelsey Awards, recognizes achievement the live theater that takes place inside The Kelsey Theatre in West Windsor, New Jersey. The awards are presented by K2KEntertainment and The Kelsey Theatre Advisory Board at an annual award ceremony inside The Kelsey Theatre every summer. The awards are given for Kelsey Theatre productions and performances, along with the John Shanken-Kaye Lifetime Achievement Award.
What sets this event apart from any other community theater award event is the fact that the general public choose the winners in each category, including Outstanding Production of a Musical. Throughout the summer, the general public will vote for their favorite productions and performers from the previous season.
The award ceremony features the revealing of the award winners in each category, performances from the musicals nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical, special preview performances from the upcoming Kelsey Theatre season, performances from the reunited casts of shows from years past, along with hilarious sketches, parodies, and suprise cameos from the Kelsey Theatre community.
The 2017 Kelsey Awards will take place August 19, 2017 inside The Kelsey Theatre.
