EXTRA EXTRA – The 2017 Kelsey Awards – Complete List of Nominees

Terrence took Kelsey Theatre by storm this past fall when he took over the role of Usnavi in “In The Heights” – a role that musical theater icon Lin Manuel Miranda made famous long before “Hamilton”. Now, his work in that production has landed him a nomination at The 2017 Kelsey Awards.

How do you like working at The Kelsey Theatre?

TERRENCE: I love it. It’s a great space to perform and the people there are phenomenal.

What is your favorite Kelsey Theatre memory?

TERRENCE: The giant hug I got to share with Tara every night in the song Alabanza.

What is your most embarrassing moment on or off stage that’s theater-related?

TERRENCE: Definitely messing up the most important song of the show. Somehow 95,000 doesn’t sound as good as 96.

If there’s one person at The Kelsey Theatre you’ve been wanting to work with, but never had the opportunity, who is it and why?

TERRENCE: I’m pretty new to the Kelsey so I don’t really know anyone outside of ITH. Pretty sure I’ll work with Lianah on a Broadway stage one day. *wink**wink*

What is your dream show that you’d like to work on?

TERRENCE: “Hamilton”, hands down by far. Followed closely by “Aladdin”. I also wouldn’t mind playing Quasimodo in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”.

Are you excited for The Kelsey Awards on Saturday, August 19th?!

TERRENCE: Way too excited!

A special message to all of the people who voted for you and made you a nominee…

TERRENCE: Thank you for supporting the show and the cast! It’s an honor and a blessing to be able to share such an amazing experience with you all and I’m glad all of our hard work paid off! Especially for my first performance at the Kelsey Theatre, from the bottom of my heart I thank every person who voted for me.

Be sure to buy your tickets for the live ceremony on Saturday, August 19th at 7pm and find out who will walk away with a 2017 Kelsey Award!
