“Annie Get Your Gun” and “Barefoot in the Park” Become First Shows Eligible for 2018 Kelsey Awards

The Yardley Players Theater Company productions of “Annie Get Your Gun” and “Barefoot in the Park” have submitted their documents and are now eligible for The 2018 Kelsey Awards, set to return August 2018 inside The Kelsey Theatre.

For those unfamiliar with The Kelsey Awards, every summer, the theater awards and celebrates the best productions and performances from the current season. Each production’s Producer and/or Director will submit the show for eligibility after the show has opened.

Once a show is eligible, the general public will vote over the summer for the shows and performances that will eventually become nominees and winners. (CLICK HERE for a full rundown of the rules and guidelines.)

ABOUT THE KELSEY AWARDS

K2KEntertainment and The Kelsey Theatre are incredibly excited to announce The 2018 Kelsey Awards! Public voting for the awards are set to begin in July, and the live ceremony, where the winners are announced, is set to take return in August 2018 inside The Kelsey Theatre.

Since 2009, K2KEntertainment and The Kelsey Theatre have jointly administered The Kelsey Awards. The Kelsey Awards recognizes achievement in the live theater that takes place inside the building.

Every summer, the Kelsey Theatre community votes for the nominees and winners in each award category, including Outstanding Production of a Musical. CLICK HERE to learn more about voting.

The winners of each category are kept hidden from the public and are revealed during a live ceremony inside the theater. This year’s ceremony takes place on August 19th at 7pm. This live ceremony announces the winners, features special performances from nominated performers and productions, special comedic sketches, along with surprise cameos and collaborations.
