The 2019 Kelsey Theatre Award Nominees: Full List

We’re now one step closer to Kelsey Theatre’s biggest night!

Nominations have been announced for The 2019 Kelsey Awards, honoring the best plays, musicals, and performances of the 2018-2019 mainstage season.

Disney’s NEWSIES, produced by PinnWorth Productions, leads the musical nominees with 17 in total, followed by A Christmas Story: The Musical with 11, and American Idiot with 10. Those three shows are nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical, along with Fun Home and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Peter and the Starcatcher, produced by The Pennington Players, leads the play categories with 12 in total, followed by Noises Off with 8, and Macbeth with 5.

This ceremony this year will be dedicated to the memories of Rita Rigby, Cat Tierney, and Jahmir “Hero” Scott.

The 2019 Kelsey Theatre Awards will be handed out at The Kelsey Theatre on Saturday, August 17, in a ceremony hosted by Kyrus Keenan Westcott & Haley Schmalbach. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.TheKelseyAwards.com.
