4 – The Hosts

Kyrus Keenan Westcott and Haley Schmalbach will serve as your hosts for the ceremony on Saturday. This hilarious, yet adorable, duo has a lot in store for the live audience as they guide you moment to moment.

“We are thrilled to be hosting The Kelsey Awards. The Kelsey Theatre community is very near and dear to our hearts and we are beyond proud to be a part of this incredibly special night,” said Kyrus.

“We have some crazy-fun stuff planned for everyone, and since this is the 10 year anniversary, we’re not holding back! We have some incredibly exciting, unpredictable surprises in store,” exclaimed Haley.

3 – The Performances

This year’s ceremony will feature special performances from all five musicals nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical: A Christmas Story: The Musical, Fun Home, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Green Day’s American Idiot, and Disney’s Newsies.

Additionally, the show will feature special PREVIEW performances of the upcoming season! During the ceremony, keep an eye out for performances from the upcoming productions of Calendar Girls, Catch Me If You Can: The Musical, and Tartuffe.

(And don’t be surprised if there are a couple other surprise musical moments sprinkled in throughout the ceremony. We don’t wanna give anything away!)

This past year was a tough year for The Kelsey Theatre community, as we unfortunately lost five beautiful, talented souls. The 2019 Kelsey Awards will remember the lives of Cat Tierney, Jahmir “Hero” Scott, Steve Brown, Rita Rigby, and Anthony Didia.

There are over a dozen production companies that perform at The Kelsey Theatre, and it’s only once a year that we get the ENTIRE community under one roof at one time! Come hang out with your friends, meet new friends, and support the community as a whole! We promise you that this will be a night you will never forget!
